About Me: After my initial professional experience in Romania with a prominent Spanish law firm, I had the opportunity to join the legal department of FIFA. It was at that moment when I realized the importance of complementing my knowledge in sports law and decided to pursue the “Global Executive Master in International Sports Law.” This program not only allowed me the flexibility to work full-time in Zurich but also provided me with the essential foundation that any sports law specialist should have. Being in contact with the program’s professors, who were not only great lawyers but also arbitrators at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, was a privilege.

We are jurists, dedicated body and soul to serve and defend society through the interpretation of laws, because this profession is a vocation and captures you like few others. In this sense, I am no different, a lawyer who fights and dedicates themselves every day to continue growing and learning in the practice of this noble and incomparable profession that I am in love with. I entered ISDE because of the interest that sports law aroused in me. I attended following the reputation of the institution and its master’s program, convinced that it would provide me with a very interesting specialization. The master’s program did not disappoint my expectations, as it greatly helped me to set a path for myself and make significant progress in my professional career. But ISDE gave me much more than knowledge: guidelines for coexistence, a baggage of values that I will never be grateful enough for, and above all, faith in myself and my abilities.

About Me: Delia has been a member of the Labor Law Department at GA_P since May 2013 and is currently a Senior Associate with over 9 years of experience. She holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from the Autonomous University of Madrid and has completed two postgraduate programs: International Sports Law from the Higher Institute of Law and Economics, and Occupational Risk Prevention from the Financial Studies Center and the Distance University of Madrid, obtaining the title of Senior Technician in the specialty of Occupational Safety. In addition to her work in labor and social security advice, collective bargaining, and representation in labor courts, she has been involved in numerous legal audit processes (funding rounds, asset acquisitions, and share/ownership transfers between different companies and groups of companies) from a labor law perspective. She states, “Thanks to ISDE, I discovered that Labor Law was a world to explore that had gone unnoticed during my studies. About you: Sarah Ochwada is a Retired Runway Model and Former Pageant Queen turned Archer, Advocate, Arbitrator and Lecturer. She is a pioneering Kenyan Entertainment Lawyer and is the 1st black African woman to hold a Masters Degree in International Sports Law. During her time at ISDE she secured an internship placement at the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) in Lausanne Switzerland.

Since then, she has received various notable appointments such as Legal Counsel for Olympics Kenya and as Arbitrator for Cricket Kenya, Athletics Kenya, Football Kenya Federation and the Qatar Sports Arbitration Foundation.

She is an Adjunct Lecturer at Strathmore University Law School based in Nairobi, Kenya where she has taught undergraduate and executive courses in Sports & Entertainment Law, Media Law, Consumer Protection Law, and Fashion & Beauty Law. She is also a visiting lecturer at ISDE Law and Business school where she has taught International Sports Law at their Madrid Campus, Spain and at Wolfson College, Cambridge, UK. Sarah is the CEO for Centre for Sports Law a non-profit providing services for sports sector, and she runs her own private practice – SNOLEGAL Sports & Entertainment Law- a cyber-legal firm focusing on emerging and cutting edge areas of law for the protection and promotion of African Sport, Talent, Culture & Enterprise.

In 2019 she received the Kotex – She Can Award in recognition of her accomplishments and for her work championing the rights of sports people on the continent.

About you: After concluding University, I was hired to work at an important Brazilian firm where I assisted foreign companies with the legal aspects of national infrastructure projects. I had a good life quality, but I thought something was missing. Because of that, in 2016, I decided to join the Sports Law Committee of the Brazilian Bar Association.

There I learned that working with sports was something possible and that ISDE was a great institution to help one achieve this goal. In order to start my migration process to Sports Law, I concluded a Master in Labour Law and changed firms to begin dealing with employment issues related to sports.

ISDE gave me the required knowledge for this passionate industry, a vast network of colleagues and friendships for life. The Master’s theoric and practical parts complete each other in a way that ISDE graduates are highly considered by people from clubs, federations, and law firms. Following my classes, I did an internship in France and another in England before moving to Portugal, where I have been working since March 2019.

Jake offered me the opportunity to serve as the Licensing Manager for Sportradar US, a global leader that provides cutting-edge solutions and services to media companies, bookmakers, sports federations and state authorities. At Sportradar, I worked alongside Daniel Lobo Guerrero (ISDE ’18), a classmate of mine during my time at Columbia, who is currently serving as the Senior Manager of Licensing and Government Affairs with Sportradar. Thereafter, I took a role with William Hill US, one of the world’s leading betting and gaming companies, where I served as the Digital Compliance Manager. I began my current role in a fully licensed and integrated online and land-based gaming operator that anticipates entering the newly regulated market in the US. About Me: I started defending the rights of professional football players in Argentina a few years after graduating as a lawyer from the National University of Córdoba (Argentina).

In order to complement my education, provide better advice, and stay updated, I decided to study at ISDE, which offered me a program with comprehensive and extensive academic content. Over time, I came to appreciate the level of excellence of the ISDE faculty, with whom I have had the fortune of sharing international congresses and events in the following years up to the present day. Currently, I am collaborating in the development of the Women’s Football Program at Futbolistas Argentinos Agremiados.

ISDE brought together my two passions: Law and Football.

About you: Following my career path working in the International Departments of FC Barcelona and Major League Soccer, I launched «Blue United» in NY, with offices in Tokyo, and Nagano. We now own an international professional soccer tournament in Hawaii – «Pacific Rim Cup», and we manage our own professional esports team – «Blue United eFC» – who is the Asia Champion. Working with global powerhouses such as Major League Soccer, Alessandro Del Piero, NY Red Bulls, Kashima Antlers, Sevilla FC, to name a few, and being a FIFA Match Agent with clients from around the world, day by day, the importance of the legal aspect in sports arose in me. Although I have a Master’s degree in Sport Management and was awarded the «Alumni on the Rise» by UMASS, I understood that ISDE offers a unique program that would be hard to find in the USA. Especially when you are specialized in football, the legal framework and unique regulations for football you need is in Europe. Special thanks to ISDE, through the program I was able to not only be legally trained, build my basic legal foundation, and obtain the necessary tools but to meet knowledgable faculties and classmates from around the world. It was not easy to study while working, but ISDE’s unique and flexible course structure allowed me to complete the program, and this was another excellent aspect that I found very valuable.
