GENERAL ACADEMIC REGULATIONS FOR ISDE STUDENTS
GENERAL ACADEMIC REGULATIONS Enrollment in any of ISDE’s academic programs implies full acceptance of its academic regulations. This document, together with the general terms and conditions of contracting and, where applicable, the specific academic regulations of the program taken at ISDE, represent the conditions you accept when enrolling at ISDE. In cases of programs with specific regulations, these shall prevail over the general regulations. In matters not regulated by the specific regulations, the general academic regulations shall apply.
- BREACH OF ACADEMIC REGULATIONS In order to remain enrolled and continue in ISDE’s training programs, students must at all times comply with the institution’s general academic regulations and, where applicable, the specific regulations of each program. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in the expulsion of the student.
- ASSIGNMENT OF WORK OR ACADEMIC MATERIAL ISDE may make use of the work, projects, or any type of contribution made by the student during the academic program without the need for their express written consent, which shall be considered granted upon acceptance of these general academic regulations. The student grants ISDE, free of charge and on a non-exclusive basis, the rights of reproduction, distribution, transformation, and public communication, in all possible forms, in relation to the submitted content (photographs, images with or without motion, texts, information, databases, sound recordings, or any other works or performances). This assignment is made worldwide, for the maximum duration currently provided for in the Intellectual Property Law, and with the express right to assign it to third parties. In the event that the student sends content of any kind to the Website managed by ISDE, the student declares, guarantees, and accepts that they have the right to do so freely, that such information does not infringe any intellectual property rights, trademark rights, patent rights, trade secrets, or any other rights of third parties, that such information is not confidential, and that such information is not harmful to third parties.
- ASSIGNMENT OF IMAGE RIGHTS Within the context of ISDE’s Academic Programs, students may be photographed and/or filmed in images, photographs, and recordings during classes and academic activities organized as part of the program, and ISDE may use them in brochures, documents, and other informational media within the framework of its teaching activity.
- PROTECTION OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY Plagiarism, in whole or in part, of intellectual works or creations of any kind is strictly prohibited. Likewise, any attitude that corrupts the proper evaluation of students, or that distorts their grades, will in any case result in the expulsion of the student.
- BEHAVIOR AND RESPECT ISDE’s pedagogical method recreates the attitudes and codes of conduct that students must learn and reproduce in their professional practice. Within the classroom, the professor is the highest authority. It is essential that students show respectful and polite behavior toward professors, tutors, and, in general, the Institution’s staff. Any serious violation of this rule will result in the student’s expulsion. During classes, students may not use mobile phones and/or access the internet for purposes unrelated to the class content. Eating or drinking in classrooms is also not permitted. Students may only enter classrooms with a bottle of water.
- COMMUNICATION TO FINANCIAL RESPONSIBLES ISDE notifies academic grades exclusively to students; however, they may be communicated to parents/guardians when they request academic monitoring and are the ones paying; otherwise, the student’s prior consent will be required.
- CLASSROOM REGULATIONS
- Schedules and attendance Schedules established by the academic coordination for the different activities must be respected, in accordance with the regulations applicable to each program. Class attendance is mandatory and the schedules established for the different curricular or extracurricular activities must be respected by students. Unjustified absences exceeding 10% of the total duration of the program will result in disciplinary measures being adopted by the center in accordance with the specific regulations applicable.
- Preparation of academic content In order to enhance understanding and learning during the different sessions, students must attend classes adequately prepared. In this regard, students will be responsible for preparing the theory, practical cases, study, and/or reading of any general or specific materials recommended by the professor for this purpose.
- Dress code Due to the characteristics of ISDE programs, students must dress, unless the specific academic regulations of their program state otherwise, in accordance with the customs of the legal sector: • Male students: suit and tie. • Female students: suit jacket. Accessories contrary to professional custom (visible tattoos, piercings, etc.) are not allowed. All garments must be clean, without stains, and in good condition; they may not be torn or frayed due to use or fashion. Under no circumstances will beach footwear, jeans, pronounced necklines, sneakers, or exaggerated miniskirts or shorts be accepted. Days when a casual business dress code is permitted will be announced by academic coordination. This dress code is required by the ethics of the legal profession as well as by the firms collaborating with ISDE. In case of non-compliance, the student will be required to return home and adjust their clothing within a time frame that allows them to miss the least amount of instruction and rejoin the classroom that same day. Failure to observe these rules will mean that the student cannot attend class and that such absence will be considered unjustified. Academic coordination will determine whether the regulations are being respected. Likewise, a respectful and polite attitude will always be required, both in dealing with classmates and with ISDE’s teaching and professional staff.
- E-LEARNING CAMPUS
- Grades ISDE Academic Coordination will provide students with grades through the e-learning campus and will manage possible reviews of them with the professors.
- Submission of Assignments Students will upload to the e-learning campus the assignments that, as indicated by the professor, must be provided to them, always meeting the established deadlines. Assignments or practical cases submitted by students after the deadline will not be accepted.
- Material used The material used in the classroom will be available on the online Campus whenever the professor allows it.
- Communications Communications may be made through the campus. Communications between students and ISDE professors may take place through the e-learning platform.
