Wouter Lambrecht, Legal Counsel of the European Club Association (ECA), spoke about ‘Compensating clubs for international duty’ and more specifically on how many national football associations lack the financial resources to be able to compensate clubs for injury to a key player whilst on international duty. Examining potential solutions to this, and whether a restructure of the international match calendar could solve this problem.
