Ray Katz is managing partner at Source1 Sports, which is a subsidiary of Source Communications, a leading advertising and transactional marketing company which has been in business since 1983 servicing clients such as SUBWAY, Sony, HP, Amtrak, JH Cohn and the 2014 Super Bowl Host Committee.
Katz is a seasoned veteran with over 20 years in the industry, and has diverse experience working for a league (NFL), an agency (Young & Rubicam), a network (The Football Network), and a team/arena property (Madison Square Garden). His expertise is focused across sports marketing disciplines including sports media, sports sponsorship, emerging technologies, and research and analytics.
Prior to joining Optimum Sports, Katz worked as chief marketing officer and senior vice president of sales for The Football Network. In 1999, Katz founded Smartix International, an affinity commerce company and continues to serve as founder, consultant and chairman of the Advisory Board.
Katz was heavily involved in the initial curriculum development for the New York University M.S. in Sports Business program in 2001, and has taught e-commerce, sports media, digital sports media, sports marketing, event marketing, and sports sponsorship courses for both the graduate and undergraduate sports programs at NYU. He is also on the board of advisors for the Business of Sports School and the Wharton Sports Business Initiative.
Katz graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and earned an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business.
