Master in Industrial and Intellectual Property, Competition and New Technologies

CAMPUS: Madrid

DURATION: One academic year

STRUCTURE

Two phases:

Phase one: Classroom instruction:

• A full academic year.
• Classes from Monday to Thursday, in the afternoon
• Some mornings per week students will attend conferences and practical sessions in offices and institutions collaborating with ISDE, with offices in the city of Madrid.
• Fridays will be dedicated to personal study, group work and workshops.

Second phase: Integration in internships:

• Obligatory phase. Between 3 to 6 months in law firms or legal departments of big companies collaborating with PONS and ISDE (more than 250) at national and international level.

Módulo Patentes, Transferencia de Tecnología, Innovación e Inteligencia Competitiva.

• Introducción a la Propiedad Industrial.
• Qué es Inteligencia Competitiva. La IC en España, asociaciones e iniciativas.
• El sistema de patentes y gobernanza. El sistema europeo de patentes.
• Secretos industriales.
• Oficina Española de Patentes y Marcas.
• Modelos nacionales e internacionales de transferencia de tecnología.
• Horizonte 2020.

Módulo Derecho de la Competencia y Publicidad.

• Derecho de la competencia: marco teórico, supuestos, ejemplos, discusiones,…
• Análisis económico de carteles.
• Prácticas colusorias. Carteles. Abuso de dominio. Prácticas agresivas: engaño, confusión.
• Desleales consumidores.
• Fundamentos teóricos y prácticos: Competencia desleal.
• Publicidad (16 horas).

Módulo Signos Distintivos, Diseño Industrial y Marca Personal.

• Introducción a los signos distintivos: marcas: concepto y funciones. Vías de protección: nacional, comunitaria, internacional. Armonización.
• Marcas colectivas y de garantía. Marca renombrada.  Nulidad de marcas.
• Protección contra la piratería en España: tipo penal y evolución jurisprudencial. Lucha contra la piratería en las aduanas.
• Diseño comunitario e internacional.

Módulo Propiedad Intelectual y Nuevas Tecnologías.

• Derechos de Autor. Derechos afines. Los derechos de artistas y productores.
• La obra audiovisual. Regulación legal, autores, productores. La figura del productor.
• La industria musical: Contratos, discográficas y editoriales, música en directo.
• Entidades de gestión. SGAE y AIE.
• Videojuegos
• Software, aspectos legales especial referencia a las Apps y contratos de software.
• Protección de datos.

JUNIOR

• Divided into 2 phases:

Evaluation of documents: the candidate must send or upload in the platform the following documents to the admissions department counselor assigned to him/her:

• Curriculum Vitae
• Cover letter and motivation (in which, after making a brief personal introduction, express the reasons why you want to pursue this program’s degree and what you hope to achieve by completing it).
• University degree (if you already have one)
• University transcripts (list of subjects and grades)
• (Optional) At least one letter of recommendation

Written tests and personal interview:

• Psycho-technical test
• Reasoning test
• English level test (Excluded for native English speakers)
• Personal interview with a member of the admissions office
