International taxation leaves no room for improvisation.

Working in international taxation isn’t about applying learned schemes. It’s about making decisions that impact real operations, real companies, and real assets.

When you start in this field, no one asks whether you know the theory. They ask whether you can analyze a transaction, support a tax position, and defend it before a client or the authorities

This International Master’s Degree in Tax Advisory is designed so that moment isn’t a leap into the unknown, but the natural continuation of your training: moving from studying taxation to practicing it with confidence and sound judgment.

Introduction and objectives

The legal and business market needs international tax advisers with more than mere knowledge of the rules.

Companies and individuals operate across several countries, and every tax decision has legal, financial, and reputational consequences.

The objective of ISDE’s International Master’s in Tax Advisory is to train you to:

  • Understand complex tax transactions
  • Structure them correctly
  • And defend them with solid technical confidence

You will work with:

  • Corporate Income Tax
  • Personal Income Tax (IRPF)
  • Non-resident taxation
  • Tax procedures
  • Tax audits and appeals

The objective is for you to start thinking like an international tax adviser—and to be able to analyse, argue, and respond when figures, deadlines, and risks are on the table.

Structure, location and calendar

CAMPUS: Madrid

MADRID INTAKE: September

DURATION: One academic year

STRUCTURE

Two phases:

Phase 1: Classroom-based training

  • One academic semester.
  • Classes from Monday to Thursday in the afternoon.
  • On some mornings each week, students attend conferences and practical sessions at ISDE partner firms and institutions, with offices in the cities of Madrid and Barcelona.
  • Fridays are dedicated to independent study, group work, and skills workshops.
  • During this first phase of the programme, students also complete the Digital Business course.

INTERNATIONAL TAX LAW COURSE: A study stay at the prestigious University of Miami.

Phase 2: Internship placement

  • Mandatory phase. Internships in professional services firms (audit, consulting and legal advisory), law firms, and tax departments of large companies partnering with ISDE (more than 250), both nationally and internationally.

The programme mirrors the real logic of professional practice.

Throughout the week, you work through the regulations using documentation and practical casework.

On-campus or streaming sessions focus on applying, debating, and making decisions.

This is not passive learning. It is professional training.

Throughout the master’s, you will:

  • Analyse real cross-border transactions
  • Work on international tax planning
  • Study double taxation treaties
  • Face simulated tax audits
  • Learn tax risk management

You can also complement your training with professional internships and a Master’s Final Project aligned with real tax advisory practice.

The objective is to be able to work with international taxation—not merely to know the rules.

04 .

Career Opportunities

This international tax advisory programme is designed to support your entry into:

  • Tax and legal advisory firms (including the Big Four)
  • Tax departments of large companies
  • International groups
  • Financial and wealth-management environments with an international tax component

The difference is not only where you work. It’s how you start working.

Those who arrive without experience need months to understand how things are done. Those who have already trained with the logic of professional tax work can take on responsibilities sooner.

You won’t leave with a generalist profile. You will graduate with a clear specialisation in international taxation.
